Making art is liberating. It frees the mind to explore and follow a path or forge in some new direction. As a sculptor I chose to explore the effects of art making and memory. Where do they intersect? How does engagement in making art forge a path to a memory? This journey will take me many places, some I will plan, but hopefully I will explore new territory, make interesting art, and help people along the way. Expect the unexpected. |
High School Student WorkStudents looked at the work of Kehinde Wiley. They selected a well known painting and drew a portrait of a classmate in that pose.

Kt's WorkEach year I make a mosaic to raise funds for scholarships for Pemberton students. In the spring of 2015 I made four Pinelands animal mosaics (box turtle, dragonfly, tree frog, and river otter). The mosaics were raffled off and raised over $1300 for Pemberton Township Education Association Scholarships for high school students.

Lines & ShapesWorking with children at the Seedlings Program in Philadelphia in the summer of 2015 produced colorful and fun shape and line paintings. I highly recommend stamping and wiki sticks for this Paul Klee inspired lesson.
